Sakae Artist: Roger Biwandu

With family roots from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Roger Biwandu was born in Bordeaux/France, He is one the few French drummers well known all over the world due to his ability to authentically play so many different styles. From Jazz to African, from Pop/Rock to Jazz Fusion, his well roundness as a player makes him both successful in a live or studio situation. The list of who he has played with is as diverse with artists such as Joe Zawinul (RIP), Salif Keita, Lee Ritenour, Frank McComb, Dee Dee Bridgewater, John Beasley, Marcus Miller, and Mario Canonge, to name just a few.

"I am so happy to be playing Sakae Drums and to be associated with them - it's like I'm back home!!! The quality of the drums is just incredible and maybe just as important to me - the people behind the brand are some of the most talented craftsmen I have had the honor to know. Their sincerity in making beautiful instruments while creating a family of drummers, who appreciate that craft, is everything I want in a drum company. They really know what we, as musicians who play the drums, need. It's just perfect."

Roger Biwandu

Roger can be seen all over the world with different artists, and he proudly endorses Sakae Drums, Zildjian Cymbals, Remo Drumheads, Vic Firth Sticks, Prodipe Microphones and Stagg Drumcases.
