Originally trained as a classical pianist, Eddie moved to Nashville in 1973 where he auditioned to play piano at a club called Carousel. The drummer was Larrie Londin and Eddie had the privilege of working with him for a year. He inspired Eddie to make the transition to playing drums professionally in 1974.
Since then, many great things have happened in Eddies career. He has played on more then 300 gold and platinum records. He has also been named in Drum Magazine as one of the Top Ten Greatest Session Drummers of All Time. Additionally, Eddie won the Academy of Country Music Drummer of The Year award 14 times (11 of them were consecutive!) and has been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame Nashville Cat Series in 2010.
Years ago, I was in Japan performing and had the opportunity to visit the Sakae factory and help make my first drum set. All the kits I have loved throughout my career have had that Sakae sound. When finding out that Sakae was on their own, it only made sense to join the "family" again. There are no better quality of drums to me.Eddie Bayers
