Russ Fairley has been a professional drummer since the early '90s, performing with groups such as Yonder, Tin Star Orphans and 5375. He is currently the full-time drummer with The Brothers, appearing regularly at venues across Canada. The Brothers are known for their groove-centric rock sound, which has made them popular amongst the artists they have shared the stage with, including Kim Mitchell, April Wine, Trooper, The Stampeders, Lighthouse, King Missile, Matt Sorum, and many others. He is also a sought after session drummer, filling drum thrones for live performances and recording sessions across the country.
Throughout my playing career I have played hundreds of sets of drums, but for my personal kit there has only ever been one sound I'm after. My Almighty Birch kit has the perfect blend of warmth, control, attack and sustain to help me deliver the best possible sound every time I sit down to play. That sound, combined with Sakae's commitment to heritage, craftsmanship, and ultimate quality, means that there is only one drum brand for me.
The legendary Birch sound, with a staggered ply construction, has been a top studio choice for years!
